Hello Pastor,
Two weeks ago, you should have received a packet from One Nation, Under God, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, encouraging you to consider having a Voter Registration Sunday (Patriot Sunday) at your church. The Pastors' Letter in the packet is below.
I would like to encourage you to serously consider helping to make sure more of our Christian brothers and sisters are registered to vote! I have personally helped a number of our churches do voter registration Sundays. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me on my cell at 847-738-7339 or my office at 847-526-7339.
Thank you, Rev. Bob Vanden Bosch Dear Pastor, Life and the Family are under attack in Springfield and in Washington. This year, legislators at the State Capitol introduced legislation to make abortion-on-demand the law in Illinois and the law would negate the Illinois Parental Notice of Abortion Lawand greatly expand taxpayer funding of abortions. Additionally, legislators introduced a civil union – same sex marriage” bill in a continuing effort to have same-sex marriages in Illinois. Both have failed so far, but proponents vow to continue to push these bills as they work to get more votes!
Dear Pastor;
I would like to ask for your help. I am also the President of One Nation, Under God, which is a 501 (c)(3) organization which focuses on helping Christians get involved in government. One of the greatest ways Christians can get involved is to make sure that they qualify to vote for the best candidates when election time comes.
You see, God has given us a country with a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Romans 13 tells us that it is God Who ordains governments--and this is the government He has ordained for the United States of America. Since that is the case, every Christian is a steward of what God has given him--including the right and responsibility to vote.
One Nation, Under God is pushing a voter registration drive in the churches. It is perfectly legal to do voter registration in our churches, but the voter registration must not be partisan, just registering people who are Republicans or Democrats. We have done a mailing to over 4,200 churches in Illinois with information on the voter registration drive. The contact number given is for Illinois Family Institute. If you feel more comfortable contacting me about church voter registration, or have questions, please feel free to call me at (847) 526-7339.
Thank you for your prayers, your interest, your encouragement, and your support in our endeavors. May God bless you in your ministry.
In His Service,
Rev. Bob
